Passion

Searching for the right job can feel overwhelming, discouraging, and even shake your confidence—I’ve been there myself, and now I’m here to help you navigate it with clarity and confidence.

Approach

My approach is to equip you with the tools and perspective of a recruiter—what we’re really looking for when we screen candidates. I’ll help you craft a resume that stands out and teach you how to confidently showcase your best self in interviews, so you can make a strong first impression and feel prepared every step of the way.

My Story So Far

Working for the Mouse

With a foundation in theatre and a lifelong love of storytelling, I’ve always been drawn to the power of connection, character, and shared experience. That same passion for understanding people and helping them shine in their own stories guided my career with The Walt Disney Company.

I began with Radio Disney, where I supported local community engagement and events that brought joy and music to families across the region. That role sparked a deeper interest in guest experience and led me to relocate to Florida, where I worked in merchandise at Magic Kingdom, supporting thousands of guests with a smile and solutions in one of the most fast-paced environments on earth.

Life at Sea

My journey continued across the Caribbean Sea as a Cruise Staff Host aboard Disney Cruise Line. There, I led guests through daily entertainment, excursions, and even safety protocols at assembly stations. These roles gave me a front-row seat to the diversity of human behavior and the universal need to be heard, helped, and valued.

Through it all, I learned to assess the needs and motivations of people quickly and intuitively—building trust through strong communication, professionalism, and empathy. My time with Disney was more than a job; it was the start of a career devoted to helping others step confidently into their next chapter.

My Journey into HR

My path into Human Resources wasn’t traditional—but it was purposeful. After years in the entertainment industry, I moved back to Kansas City and was introduced to a respected HR leader who saw my potential and offered me a Generalist role at a local theme park. That opportunity marked the beginning of my HR career.

From there, I advanced into Operations and later a Manager role, where I oversaw the full employee experience—from onboarding and engagement to development and retention. It was in these roles that I began to see how my background in storytelling and guest service translated seamlessly into HR.

While the shift from entertainment to HR might seem like a stretch, I’ve found the two have more in common than you'd think. At its core, recruiting is storytelling—it's about capturing attention, building connection, and inspiring belief in a shared mission. Success in HR requires presence, influence, and the ability to create an experience that resonates—much like a performance. I’ve brought that mindset into every role, helping organizations stand out and employees feel seen, valued, and engaged.

Stepping into the Corporate World

As I transitioned into the corporate space, I entered a fast-paced, competitive industry where I had the opportunity to work closely with leadership, company executives, and cross-functional teams. It was here that I officially began my recruiting career—connecting with top talent, building strategic partnerships with universities, and representing the company at career fairs across the region.

Each day, I championed candidates—advocating for the right fit, navigating internal priorities, and ensuring every applicant had a fair chance. I quickly realized that recruiting wasn’t just about filling roles; it was about building relationships, reading between the lines, and becoming a trusted voice in the hiring process.

Along the way, I developed a deep interest in employment law and its impact on both candidates and companies. This passion led me to study applicant behavior, generational hiring trends, and the ways hiring managers make decisions—knowledge that allows me to coach others with clarity and purpose. I’ve made it my mission to help people understand the system, tell their story effectively, and approach each opportunity with confidence and strategy.

Finding Purpose in the Blue-Collar World

In a bold and intentional shift, I took my experience into a new space—the blue-collar industry. It was a move that allowed me to see the heart of the workforce up close. I continued to lead recruiting and project management efforts, but this time, I was connecting with skilled tradespeople, technicians, and frontline workers whose contributions keep our communities running.

What I found was a new kind of fulfillment—working with individuals who often don’t get the spotlight but deserve recognition just the same. I became passionate about not only bringing in the right people but also making sure they stayed. That meant focusing on retention, recognition, and creating a culture where employees felt appreciated and seen.

From developing onboarding strategies to launching employee recognition programs, I’ve worked to ensure that every team member—from the field to the front office—knows their value. Because no matter the industry, people are at the center of every successful business.
